Randstad launches salary survey – a re you being paid enough working in Northern Ireland's contact centre industry?

Randstad, the world’s third largest recruitment and HR services company is pleased to announce the launch of their first salary survey ‘Tempting enough talent?’
This snap shot of employment trends highlights just how much salaries vary across the UK. Key findings of the survey include:

  • Northern Ireland workers are the least well paid in UK. Salaries are more than 26% below the overall average
  • Even the East Midlands, England’s lowest paid region, has salary levels more than 14% higher than Northern Ireland’s
  • There are over 17,000 workers employed within the contact centre industry in Northern Ireland, constituting 2.05% population
  • Salaries in the contact centre industry in Northern Ireland are 15% lower than Wales, 14% lower than Scotland and 13% lower than the lowest English region
Fred van der Tang, Managing Director Randstad UK said: “Our research and industry knowledge shows that salaries are very important when it comes to people job-hunting, but companies should be aware that other elements such as company culture, work environment and qualitative benefits are also important in attracting and retaining the best people.”
