Randstad launches salary survey – are you being paid enough?
Randstad, the world’s third largest recruitment and HR services company is pleased to announce the launch of their first salary survey ‘Tempting enough talent?’
This snap shot of employment trends highlights just how much salaries vary across the UK. Key findings from the independent research includes:
- salaries in Central Southern and Thames Valley are higher than any other regions outside the capital
- 70% of women in London work full-time compared to 59% in the rest of the UK
- Northern Ireland workers are the least well paid in UK. Salaries are more than 26% below the overall average
- East Midlands are bottom of the salary stakes in mainland UK, with people earning 21% less than London and almost 5% less than Yorkshire and Humberside the next lowest English region
Fred van der Tang, Managing Director Randstad UK said: “Our research and industry knowledge shows that salaries are very important when it comes to people job-hunting, but companies should be aware that other elements such as company culture, work environment and qualitative benefits are also important in attracting and retaining the best people.”
