Randstad’s employment survey asks is bigger necessarily better?

Randstad, the world’s third largest staffing and HR services company are pleased to announce the launch of their first employment survey 2007/8 ‘Building your Business’.

This valuable piece of research and insight on today’s workplace issues is a must have for any business.   Key findings of the survey include:

Is bigger necessarily better? 92% employees working for micro businesses (up to 10 employees) ‘really enjoy working for their organisation’, in contrast with 49% in large companies (250+ employees)  

Experience or personality? 56% employers say that compared to three years ago they now place more emphasis on people’s attitudes and personality when recruiting. Only 31% say they are still more interested in experience

Is nine to five still alive? 79% employers offer some form of flexible working, with a third saying they offer it to all staff, most among high growth businesses. 65% of those who flexible working believe it increases productivity
